a provider of professional educational products for creative markets, has just
announced the donation of their video-based training courses to the Kiowa County
Media Center Project, launched after an EF5 tornado destroyed 95% of this Kansas
community’s houses and businesses. Contributions of the award-winning
training DVD’s include select titles from NewTek and Sony and will play
an integral part in educating community journalists. “We are happy to help the citizens of Kiowa County rebuild their community,” said Paul Holtz, founder and CEO of Class on Demand. “We admire their resilience and applaud their forward thinking and innovative approach to communications as reconstruction begins.” Upon completion, The Kiowa County Media Center will be a 5,000 square-foot facility with energy-efficient designs, technologies and equipment. It will consist of a small television studio, a small Internet radio studio as well as a studio for internet news. The state-of-the-art facility will also house the latest in video, audio, and graphics workstations. Phase One of the Media Center Project is currently underway, incorporating
the construction of a 22-foot HDTV Production Trailer containing four HDTV
cameras, as well as a collection of HDTV production equipment. The launch
is scheduled to go online in November, 2009. A transitory television studio will also be assembled within the new Kiowa County Community Building. Construction is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks. The Class on Demand training DVD’s will be offered in both the Production Trailer and at the studio facilities.
